SHOULD I CONTINUE TO SEE MY CURRENT PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN?
In most cases, the MyNP provider will become your Primary Care Provider. However, on some occasions our patients wish continue a relationship with their former physician every 6 months. In these situations, we send a letter to your existing physician to help clarify MyNP’s role in your care and are happy to forward any requested records from our routine visits to your Primary Care Provider. The patient should inform the MyNP Provider of scheduled appointments with an ambulatory primary care doctor/provider.
WHAT IF I NEED TO GO TO A SPECIALIST?
If you are currently being seen by a specialist, you will continue to see that physician. However, if you require a specialist, we will be happy to refer you to one.
WHAT IF I’M HOSPITALIZED?
As with many primary care physicians, we do not make rounds within the hospital. However, we collaborate closely with excellent local hospitalist groups. Patients should have their hospital discharge planner notify MyNP when discharge from the hospital is pending so that our provider may be scheduled for a visit within 24-48 hours of discharge.
WHAT IF I HAVE AN EMERGENCY?
MyNP does not provide Emergency Care; but our goal to minimize your ER visits. We are available to provide advice on the urgency of any concerning medical issue by calling our After Hours/On-Call Line 561.379.6421 after 4PM on weekdays.
The After Hours/On-Call Line is for urgent medical questions and concerns only. Prescription refills and administrative concerns will not be addressed on this line. Those questions should be directed to our office (or by email) during normal business hours.
MyNP makes every effort to see patients with acute issues within 24-48 hours. However, MyNP may or may not be available to provide same day, acute services depending upon availability of a Provider and/or referral resources. When either option is unavailable, we advise that the patient proceed to the nearest urgent care center for evaluation.
